Sukhraj Gill - My Active Learning Experience

Hello Mr. Neuf,
I am going to tell you what grade I think I deserve and why, also answer the questions I found on your blog.

I have shown that I am willing and prepared to participate by coming with a positive attitude ready to do any activity. There have been a few activities this year which I would have in the past had a negative attitude towards but I have learnt to be willing to try and always give the effort. Last year as an example, I would not give a sufficient effort if it was an activity i was not very good at, such a s basket ball or a 25 minute run but i would if it was an activity such as hockey. I learned that if i really want to improve my fitness, i always have to give the effort. Now this year, i am actually excited to do activities such as basketball because I believe that it is better to try, no matter how bad your are, than sit on the side and not participate in the sport. Overall me bringing this kind of attitude to class is awesome.

My paragraph above already summarized this up, but this year I tried to give a good effort every class to improve my fitness but there were a few time where I was not performing and giving a very good effort and I worked hard to fix this problem. I think it was my biggest problem, it was the fact the I was letting friends get in my way my fitness. This is also where I struggled as well in fitness, i would let my friends slow me down from preforming at my best, but now, nearing half of our semester I learned to stay away from my friends and not let them get in the way of my fitness. What I am most proud of is being able to put aside my friends in order to stay focused on my fitness. I am now trying seperate my self away from some people in class such as brendon and trying to stay with Jasluv as he is a very good person that i can compete with and train with as he can help push me my fitness. I try to include fitness into my everyday life as I play lots of sports and especially hockey (ball, ice, roller), and using P.E is a good way to train my fitness in acticties such as insanity and beep test help.

I contribute to our class my bringing a positive energy and being friendly to my class mates. Over the year I have helped my class mates when needed and tried to stay friendly towards everyone. I interact with my class mates in a positive way as I like to talk to my class mates and keep them in a positive mood as well.

On fitness days in the beginning of the semester, I let friends get in the way of me not performing to the best of my abilities but now, I don't let that happen. I like fitness days as they are a good way for me to test my abilities and push my self to the limit. I am a very good runner so I like doing fitness activities such as the beep test.

I believe leadership is when someone is able to take the initiative and stand up for the betterment of others around them.

With the rest of the school year, I would like to stay on track I am going on. To focus on my personal fitness I am going to keep pushing my self to my limits in every activity that I take part in. An improvement I would like to make is to always stay focused on the task as there have been a few instances where I slacked off in class. I am determined to continue working on my leadership skills and fitness goals. I believe that I deserve an "A" in P.E class.

Thank You
Sukhraj Gill

  1. You pretty much nailed it dude. You have so much to offer and all the reasons to want to put in a full effort. The social pressures and your own understanding of group dynamics are the only thing holding you back. Find others who want to push all the way and spend time with them. Once you are confident in your own desire and ability to max out then go back and help your other friends. :)
